Future Antiquities
Whitney Museum, New York
The Future Antiquities concept and environmental installation (funded with a Visual Arts Grant from the New York State Council on the Arts) is a vision of multiple structural planes reflective of our urban rectilinear environments. As the vertical forms meet “the sky,” select edges are eroded to suggest mountainous tops, thus, the city returns to nature. The Mel Wong Dance Company choreographed a dance composition in tandem with the sculpture project and performed the work for the public over a weekend of events.
